How to Link Watches that Aren’t a Fitbit or Garmin to Motion Connected
If you track activity with a wearable device other than a Fitbit or Garmin*, you may be able link your activity data to Motion Connected (or Healthy Choice for EHP participants) with the Apple Health app on iPhone or the Google Fit app on Android. Some devices can share step data with these apps.

Is My Watch Compatible?
If your fitness app can share activity data with Apple Health or Google Fit, you can use it for Motion Connected/Healthy Choice!
- Check your app or the device manufacturer’s materials for information on Apple Health/Google Fit compatibility.
- If no information is available, follow the general instructions at the end of this article to check.
How to Connect Your Watch’s App to Apple Health or Google Fit
Each app has a slightly different process to connect with Apple Health or Google Fit, but generally, you can follow these steps:
For iPhone Users:
- Open the Health app on your iPhone (this app is pre-installed).
- Tap your profile picture (sometimes shown as your initials) in the upper-right corner.
- Under Privacy, tap Apps. Here, you'll see a list of apps you have that are compatible with Health. If your device’s app isn't listed, it may not be compatible.
- If your app is listed, tap it and enable the health categories you want to share.
- Depending on your app, you may also need to open it to adjust its settings and allow data sharing with Health.
For Android Users:

- If you haven’t already, download Google Fit from the Play Store and set up an account in the app.
- Open the device’s app you want to connect, such as VeryFitPro, Zepp, or Strava.
- Locate a Settings menu.
- Look for an option to connect other apps and devices. This may be labeled "Link other services," "Apps & devices," "Manage connections," or something similar.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to link your app to Google Fit.
