Data recorded prior to the day you link your Fitbit account to Motion Connected will not automatically sync to your Motion Connected account. Below are the details on how Motion Connected gets activity data from the Google Health (Fitbit) system. Please note that in order for our system to access your data it must first sync to and show in your Google Health (Fitbit) app.
Our system pulls data from Google Health (Fitbit) on a two hour cycle.
The connection with a Fitbit account/device works like this:
- Your device offloads activity data to the Google Health (Fitbit) app or software.
- The Google Health (Fitbit) app or software holds the activity data and uploads it to the Google Health (Fitbit) servers.
- Google Health (Fitbit) notifies Motion Connected that your account has new activity data.
- At the next two hour cycle, Motion Connected pulls your activity data from Google Health (Fitbit).
Network issues or large amounts of data can cause delays in between these steps. For example, if Google Health (Fitbit) gets data from your device at 10:03 and the next pull does not happen until 12:00, if there is a large number of accounts being updated it may take until 12:45 for your Motion Connected account to be updated.
