Data recorded prior to the day you link your Motion Connected and Fitbit accounts will not automatically sync to your Motion Connected account. Below are the details on how we get activity data from the Fitbit system. Please note that in order for our system to access your data it must first sync to and show in your Fitbit account at fitbit.com
Our system pulls data from Fitbit on a 15 minute cycle; depending upon how much data we have to pull during each cycle the process may take up to 30 minutes. Average sync time is usually 15-20 minutes but should not take more than 45 minutes
The connection with a Fitbit account/device works like this:
- Your device uploads data to the Fitbit app.
- The Fitbit app holds the data and uploads it to the Fitbit servers
- Fitbit Notifies us that your account has new data
- At the next 20 minute increment we Pull your data from Fitbit
Network issues or large amounts of data can cause delays in between these steps. For example if Fitbit gets data from your device at 10:03 and the next pull does not happen until 10:15 and due to a large number of account being updated it may take until 10:27 for your account to be updated.
